Personalised name keyrings for teams, clubs and events: a buyer’s guide

How to order personalised 3D printed name keyrings for a sports team, school group, club or event: materials, colours, sizing and how bulk orders work.

Illustrated cover: personalised name keyrings for teams, clubs and events

A keyring with someone’s name on it is one of the simplest gifts that still feels personal. For a sports team, a class, a club or an event, it also solves a practical problem: every bag, water bottle and set of keys looks the same until it has a name on it.

Why 3D printed name keyrings work for groups

  • Everyone gets their own name, so nobody gets a generic gift.
  • They’re light and tough, which matters for kids’ bags and kit bags.
  • They can be in your colours: team, school or club colours make them feel like part of the uniform.
  • They’re affordable at volume, especially when the whole group shares a design.

Choosing the material

For keyrings, we recommend PETG. It’s tougher than PLA and bends slightly instead of snapping when a bag gets thrown into a car boot. It also copes better with heat and sun, which matters for bags left in hot cars. Our PLA vs PETG guide explains the difference.

Colours that read well

Name keyrings are usually printed in two colours: one for the base and one for the raised letters. The names are easiest to read with strong contrast, such as white letters on navy, or black on yellow. If your team colours are close in shade, use one of them for the base and white or black for the letters.

Getting the names right

Spelling mistakes are the most common problem with group orders. Before you order:

  • Collect names in a spreadsheet or list, exactly as they should appear.
  • Decide on capitals (for example, JESS or Jess) and use the same style for everyone.
  • Keep names short. Long names are printed smaller, so very long names or full names may need a larger size.

How bulk orders work

For a handful of keyrings, order each one from the Personalised section of the shop. For 20 or more, ask for a quote and tell us:

  1. How many you need, and roughly when.
  2. The colours and material.
  3. Whether everyone gets a different name, the same text, or a logo.

We reply within one business day. You’ll approve a 3D preview of the design before we print the batch, just like a single personalised order.

Ideas beyond sport

  • End-of-year gifts for a class or the teachers
  • Bag tags for school camps and excursions
  • Event favours for weddings, birthdays and conferences
  • Staff gifts with your business name or logo

Questions and answers

What’s the best material for a keyring?

PETG. It’s tougher than PLA, flexes slightly instead of snapping, and handles heat and sun better, which suits keyrings that are handled every day and left in bags and cars.

How many keyrings count as a bulk order?

20 or more. Ask for a quote with the quantity, colours and timing, and we’ll reply within one business day.

Can each keyring have a different name?

Yes. Send the list of names exactly as they should appear, and we’ll design each one. You approve a 3D preview before we print.

Can you add a logo to a keyring?

Often, yes, depending on the size and detail of the logo. Send it with your quote request and we’ll let you know what will print clearly. Only send logos you have the right to use.
