3D printing is good at two things that make a great gift: shapes you can’t buy anywhere else, and pieces made for one specific person. Here are ideas for the occasions people ask us about most.
For birthdays
- A name sign for a bedroom door or desk, in their favourite colours.
- A personalised keyring for a first set of keys, a school bag or a new car.
- A sculptural vase for someone who loves design, paired with dried flowers.
For teachers and coaches
End-of-year gifts work best when they’re useful and not one more mug. Ideas:
- A desk organiser or pen pot for the classroom.
- A personalised sign with their name, or a thank-you message from the class.
- For a whole team or class, name keyrings for everyone. See our team keyrings guide.
For housewarmings
- A planter for a first indoor plant (with a saucer or liner, see our care guide).
- A vase in a colour that suits their new place.
- A house number or family name sign, printed in PETG if it’s going outside.
For people who are hard to buy for
- Something for their desk: a phone stand, cable tidy or bookmark.
- A print in their team’s or club’s colours.
- A personalised piece with an in-joke, nickname or pet’s name.
Make any gift more personal
Even a ready-made design becomes personal when you choose the colours. Most of our Ready to Print designs let you pick a size and colour, and Personalised pieces are designed by hand from your brief.
